SUSTAINED DEFIANCE
2025
This is a short work made for film. It was created in response to, and in reflection of, the devastating 2022 Lismore flood crisis—an event that exposed profound collective vulnerability, resilience, and the human capacity to endure.
Motivated by the idea of how we embody defiance in moments of crisis, it became an exploration into the multitudes of how we might defy, and sustain defiance; through care, through trust, strength, connection, through letting go and ultimately through uniting.
After filming the work, it was projected on the walls of The Joinery, the new home of NORPA.
